SmartGuard Security Limited was initially created in 1992 as Elite Protection Security. Since then the company has grown, changed and modernised with time. The services have been developed with specialist key personnel to achieve the high standard of service offered today.

In 2002 the original MD of SmartGuard introduced Mr. David Peters a specialist close protection officer to the event and specialist security teams. After 18 months of association with SmartGuard, Mr. Peters acquired the company and became managing director in November 2003.

During the last 7 years SmartGuard security assignments have included the rich and famous from T.V. stars to rock bands and government officials, peaking with the current chancellor of the exchequer, Mr. Gordon Brown at the last general election and providing consultancy after the security breach mid term for David Blaine's recent 'Inside the box' publicity stunt.

SmartGuard also planned, organized and implemented the security at events including HM Queen Elizabeth II Royal visit to Horsham, West Sussex and for local authority events including - Christmas lights switch on, public entertainment and security for local elections in 2003.

Our operatives and training:
At SmartGuard we are aware that our service is only as good as the operatives on assignment and beyond. All staff are vetted thoroughly for criminal or civil convistions for the previous 10 years. If the candidate passes two in-depth interviews they are then offered a position and start our training programme.

All SmartGuard personnel are trained to SITO standards and having successfully completed basic training they are given on site assignment training, during this period the recruit is on duty with one of our management team to ensure they gain the experience and knowledge required for the assignment.
